Woodworking Basics: Serving Board - September 19th

In this all level woodworking class students will learn to craft beautiful solid wood serving boards. We will discuss wood properties, tool safety and techniques, and finishing. This is a great introduction to working with the drill press, band saw and various sanders.

Tools and material are provided.

Class will take place on September 19th and run from 9am - 12pm.

Taught by Avery Pate

Avery Pate is a custom furniture maker, woodworker, and teacher. Before returning to the Triangle in 2025, they spent over a decade in New York City and were fortunate enough to work with several notable designers and fellow woodworkers. They have taught at Makeville Studio, A Workshop of Our Own (WOO), Tools for Working Wood, and had the privilege of assisting Bill Wallace at the Arrowmont School of Art and Craft. As an instructor, they are passionate about making woodworking accessible and empowering for communities that are underrepresented in the industry.
