Who we are

The Lumber District was created by Will Cowart in 2024.

The idea came as a solution for a need of high quality hardwood lumber available in the Durham area.

We work with local sawyers to source quality lumber. All lumber is kept in a temperature and humidity controlled space.

The name comes as a nod to Will’s roots in Illinois. The “New Lumber District” was a series of lumber yards in Chicago, IL in the late 1800’s.
